The peace sign started off as the universal sign for victory – thanks to Winston Churchill’s famous speech during WWII asking everyone to throw up the V sign for victory and freedom. Later followed by the Vietnam War in the 1960’s the V sign became the cosmopolitan symbol for peace. But a reverse V sign in the British culture is similar to giving the middle finger, so be careful not to pin your peace sign upside down, unless you mean it!
Wear it with pride and support peace in the midst of this angry and violent culture. Let’s spread love and peace again, and live as one!
